If you’ve ever experienced one of my advanced facials at Skin Alchemy, you’ve probably heard me list the complimentary modalities I offer—LED therapy, neck and chest treatments, custom mask infusions, and more. The usual response? “I want everything!”
I get it—the idea of enjoying all those treatments in a single session sounds amazing. However, I recently realized that trying to fit everything into a standard session meant each modality only received about 2 minutes of attention. This is simply not enough time for you to get the full benefits.
To my amazing clients: I am so sorry to those of you who ended up having your treatments extended (for free, of course) by 30 minutes to an hour while I tried my best to fit everything in. The truth is, I sometimes get so lost in the treatments—completely focused on providing the best care possible—that I don’t even realize how much time has passed. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that it’s just not possible to deliver optimal results while providing a relaxing experience without extending time. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as I’ve worked to refine my protocols.
So, let’s break down why more time can make all the difference for your skin.
My Free Modality List with Recommended Time:
Here’s a closer look at the free modalities I offer and the recommended time needed for each to deliver optimal results:

Facial Massage | 10–20 minutes | Releases tension and enhances product absorption.
Facial Reflexology | 5 minutes | Rebalances and rejuvenates with targeted pressure points.

Standard Inclusion | Treatment Mask | 10 minutes | A targeted mask for problematic skin to address concerns like hydration, acne, anti-aging, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation. |
Sheet Mask | 10 minutes | A targeted mask for problematic skin to address concerns like hydration, acne, anti-aging, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation.
Neck Treatment | 10 minutes for each modality or advanced modality | Extending modalities and their benefits to the neck.
Chest Treatment | 10 minutes for each modality or advanced modality | Extending modalities and their benefits to the chest.
Microdermabrasion | 10 minutes | A non-invasive exfoliating treatment that uses a device to gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. |
My Advanced Modality List:
Modality | Recommended Time | Benefits |
Microneedling / Microchanneling: | 20 - 30 minutes | If numbing an additional 10 - 20 minutes needed. Stimulates collagen production, reduces scars, fine lines, and improves overall texture. |
Jet Plasma | 10 - 15 minutes for face | Enhances absorption of active ingredients, reduces acne-causing bacteria, and stimulates collagen production. Neck 10 minutes, chest 10 minutes. |
Spicule Peel / Liquid Microneedling: | 20 minutes | Gently resurfaces skin, promotes cellular turnover, and infuses active ingredients. |
SUPERJECTIONS | 20 minutes | Microneedling serums targeting hydration, anti-aging, and brightening. |
Chemical Peels | 10 - 20 minutes | Exfoliates dead skin cells, brightens complexion, and targets hyperpigmentation and acne. |
Cold Plasma | 30 minutes | Uses 4 different tips to address different skin concerns. (Pore erasing, frequency needless microchanneling, product absorption, and milia). |
Nanoneedling | 20 minutes | Boosts collagen production and enhances product absorption for smoother, firmer skin. |
Hydrofacial | 30 minutes | Deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the skin using vortex technology to extract impurities and infuse serums. |
As you can see, each of these modalities is designed to address specific skin concerns! However, squeezing them all into a standard session without extending time would mean compromising on results. 'Standard inclusions' are the modalities that don't affect time and are included in all of my treatments.
Putting Time Into Perspective
To give you a clearer picture of why extended time is essential, let’s break down how time is actually spent during a typical 75-minute treatment. Out of those 75 minutes, only 30 to 50 minutes are dedicated to modalities—which means you can realistically fit in about three modalities per session if you want to experience their full benefits.
For example, my basic facial often includes:
LED Therapy with HydroJelly Mask: 20 minutes (if I use a HydroJelly mask that allows LED light to penetrate).
OR a sheet mask that allows LED to pass through
Dermaplaning: 20 minutes to ensure a thorough and smooth exfoliation.
Quick Facial Massage: 10 minutes to release tension and enhance product absorption.
OR Extractions
That’s already 50 minutes dedicated solely to modalities!
Heres what it would look like for an advanced facial:
Dermaplaning: 20 minutes
Advanced Treatment: 20 - 30 minutes
Sheet mask that allows LED to pass through: 10 minutes
Thats 50 - 60 minutes! Sometimes there will only be enough time for 5 minutes of LED Therapy/Treatment masks!
And let’s not forget the essentials: it takes about 25 to 30 minutes for the crucial steps like cleansing, exfoliating, and applying finishing products—including serums, toners, moisturizers, SPF, and lip masks. These steps are vital to prepare your skin for the modalities and seal in all the active ingredients afterward.
So, as you can see, even with the most streamlined approach, time runs out quickly. That’s why opting for extended time isn’t just a luxury—it’s the best way to ensure that each modality can work to its fullest potential, delivering visible and lasting results.
How to Decide If You Need Extended Time
Ask yourself these questions:
Do you want to focus on multiple concerns in one session? If you’re targeting acne, hyperpigmentation, and anti-aging simultaneously, extended time will allow us to address each effectively.
Are you looking for maximum results from every modality? If you’re interested in experiencing the full benefits of modalities like LED therapy, HydroFacial, ultrasonic scrubber, scalp treatment, treatment masks, and sheet masks, then extended time is essential.
Do you want comprehensive care for your neck and chest? Since I already extend advanced facials to these areas for free, adding extra time ensures these regions get the attention they deserve wihtout taking away from the base facial.
How to Decide If You Need Extended Time
I hope I didn't hurt your brain with all of these numbers!! LOL!
If you’d prefer to leave the planning to me, then don’t even worry about the numbers above—I’ve got you covered! I’ll choose the best combination of modalities based on your skin’s needs to ensure you get the most out of your treatment. Just know, the more modalities with little time, the leat relaxing your experience will be! So if you still want a relaxing facial with lots of modalities then its best to extend your time with the ADD ON.
But if you have something specific in mind, here’s a tip:
Come to your facial with 3 to 4 specific modalities that you’re excited about. This way, I can adjust the protocol to focus on what matters most to you—whether that’s relaxation, facial massage, deep hydration, acne control, or anti-aging.
By letting me know your top picks, I can craft a personalized treatment plan that guarantees you leave with the results and treatments you want!
