Fun fact! When I first took those before pictures I didn’t even know what an esthetician was and that giving people facials was even a job. ALSO, I was in Afghanistan at the time living a completely different life than I am now, so it’s not like I could go see a dermatologist or get a facial done!
I learned about every ingredient and product out there and tried soooo many! Before I became an esthie I was already a self proclaimed acne expert 😂 because I DID THAT.
But it wasn’t just the acne… my biggest headache was the dark spots/hyperpigmentation that followed me for years afterwards!
My skin today wouldn’t be what it is without balancing the correct products at the right time! Once I got into the world of professional skincare products it completely changed the game for my skin.

![Fun fact about my treatment bed!!👇🏽🛏️
This is the Oakworks One treatment bed and these beds can run from $400-$700 !! I found this bed on Facebook marketplace and RAN to go get it! The original owner is from the mainland and found out that the cost to ship it back was the same price as buying a whole new one! So she sold it for $100!!!
I scored big time!!
It’s literally such a comfy bed without the foam topper as well!! But the foam topper just adds that extra layer of comfort + I already had it for my other bed lol! I always debate whether to use the topper or not 🤔
Another thing that elevated my bed (and this is more so aesthetic), the bed skirt! I didn’t even know a bed skirt was a thing for massage beds when I first started! And it literally transforms my space and makes it look more professional.
I constantly debated how I wanted to setup my bed, I used to have a pillow but found it would get in the way of my facial massages which is why I stuck to a flat bed instead!
And if you haven’t noticed yet, my spa head bands cover the whole head! Instead of a thin headband that cover parts of the hair line, the Korean spa headbands cover a larger portion to protect the hair and hairline!
🧞♂️As simple as my bed setup is, it actually took a while to figure out how I wanted to set my bed up, which linens and blankets I wanted to use, etc. Bed I’m so happy where it’s at now!

Im still not a website designer BUT if you’ve ever visited a skincare website and felt completely lost—I get it. Too much fluff, not enough clarity, and booking feels like a guessing game. ![Why I almost stopped selling retail—and why that would’ve been a huge mistake! 🙃
At one point, I almost transitioned my business to have NO RETAIL—my shelves were nearly empty. I thought to myself, I’m not a salesman, my clients are going to feel like I’m trying to sell them expensive products to make money, my clients can just buy products online.
Looking back, that would’ve been a 𝗛𝗨𝗚𝗘 mistake.
Skincare isn’t just about what happens in the treatment room; it’s the daily homecare that truly transforms your skin. Now? My shelves are 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗗 with top of the line clinical/medical-grade 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 and 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻 brands—curated with my personal faves that I’ve tested and use on myself personally! Both MicroNEEDLING and MicroCHANNELING have their own benefits and perks. And majority of the time people don’t even know they are different services using different devices!
𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 vs 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴:
▫️ Both treatments use fine needles to stimulate collagen production, enhance product absorption, and improve overall skin health. However, microneedling uses a pen that glides across the skin, creating controlled micro-injuries for a more advanced and deeper healing response, while microchanneling uses a stamping technique to create precise microchannels with less trauma and inflammation.
▫️ If you struggle with deep acne scars, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, or thick, textured skin, microneedling may be the better choice. It penetrates deeper (0.25mm-2.5mm), allowing for stronger collagen remodeling over time. However, this also means a bit more downtime and inflammation.

In short, Why I Niched down:
🔘 I was more passionate about facials and skincare

🔘 Offering too many services meant a clash of energies and personalities
- [during facials I provide a very informational and relaxing energy, during hair removal I try to provide an empathetic yet fun energy, with permanent makeup my energy needed to be trustworthy and sharp, with lip infusions my energy needed to be informative yet boujie lol] jumping from one service to the other would be tiring and exhaust my mental state!
Did my career start in lash extensions? Yes! But I quickly learned that wasn’t the path for me and chose Facials. I was already a skincare fanatic so it just made sense! Going through my acne breakout made me heavily research everything before I even knew about estheticians!!
I had a split decision. Adult corrections officer or Esthetics! You would think it was a no brainer 😂😅. But financially, going into esthetics has been one of the toughest I’ve experienced. I took the largest pay cut since doing so! My first job as an esthetician, I went back to making the same amount I made in high school 🥲. Financially, being an ACO was a more sound choice 😂
Lots of sacrifices to be in this field but I don’t regret it! I am passionate about what I do and I know it will and is working out in the end!
