L-Mandelic Acid (AHA)

After cleansing and toning, apply a thin layer to the face and neck. Start every other evening, then increase to nightly as tolerated. Follow with moisturizer. Use SPF daily when using exfoliating acids. Perform a patch test first if your skin is sensitive or reactive.

This serum comes in four strengths: 5%, 8%, 11%, and 15%. This allows you to progress gradually based on your skin’s needs and tolerance.

• 5% (Gentle Start): Best for sensitive skin or a compromised barrier, first-time AHA users, or anyone currently reactive.

• 8% (Everyday Face Favorite): Our main recommendation for most face routines; effective resurfacing with minimal irritation when introduced slowly. This percentage is the sweet spot for facial serums.

• 11% (Targeted Body / Occasional Face): Designed primarily for back and body where skin is thicker; may be used on the face in select cases after you’ve comfortably tolerated 8%.

• 15% (Last Resort): Not a first option. Use only after successful tolerance of lower strengths. Intended mostly for stubborn body acne or highly resistant skin. Build up gradually, and discontinue if irritation persists.

How to advance:
Start 2–3 nights per week for 2 weeks. If skin stays calm (no lingering redness, stinging >10 minutes, or excessive flaking), increase frequency. Consider moving up a strength only after 3–4 weeks of consistent, comfortable use at the current level. Always pair with a barrier-supporting moisturizer and daily SPF. Avoid using the same night as strong retinoids or additional exfoliating acids.
